It takes forever for recorded movies to load, if they even load at all. As I right this, it's just swirling and swirling and not loading. I have tried 3 different movies in the past 15 minutes. Recorded TV shows is not a problem. Very clear picture. The channel guide is confusing and you can't switch back to the last show. And I do have high speed internet. Excellent in everyway. However, if I find a channel I want to watch using the TV guide, I watch it and then go back to the TV guide, the guide starts at the very first channel rather than the channel you were watching which means you have to scroll forward to where you were to seek for programs to watch.
Secondly, one cannot delete recordings. The recording interface should be more user friendly. Lastly, MLB was removed due to a contract dispute. So then shouldn't our monthly price also go down? I don't understand why there's no live guide. Seems simple. The service is great with the amount of variety that you have for viewing, especially if you watch live sports. But this UI is pedestrian at best. It makes it a chore to record one show. You can request that data be deleted. I cannot say I am fan of the new design language when bringing up the seek bar on Chromecast with Google TV.
Before the latest update, it was a bit more aesthetic and did not obstruct the screen as much when you brought up the seek bar since it was semi-transparent. I can understand not doing animations for the sake of speeding the app up, but why remove the transparency? When a user brings up the seek bar, it is not like they're totally disinterested in the video. Being able to see bits of the video underneath is helpful. We're being forced to use this app for music playing. What a joke. There are no features in this app for playing music that work with the way most people play music. Music and Youtube videos are entirely different things. I don't want a liked song to be replaced by a 10 year old music video that has awful audio.
I also don't want a video I liked that featured audio to be part of my music collection. Do people who listen to music actually work on this app? Google is really going downhill with these latest changes. And of course, being google, in a year or two they'll go a completely different direction because they can't get their act together. I'm guessing in they'll introduce Google Hangouts Music and the only way we can listen to music is if our friends like it too. When I bought my TV, everything worked great. The updates to the YouTube app has made it very buggy. I open it up and get boxes with an X in each one where all the icons are and lots of videos are grayed out.
I have to go the the app in settings and close it, then reopen it. It also flashes a black screen periodically for a fraction of a second. Sometimes I get a loading circle lasting forever and have to manually stop the app and restart it. Sometimes I have tor restart my TV.
